Recruitment Update / Girls Hockey Flyer / Start Recruiting ! Email us at ladywildcatshockey@weymouthgirlshockey.com For the past three years we have tried to gather interest in the girls teams by placing flyers in the rink and schools in Weymouth - this year is no exception. Here is the flyer for this year to help gather interest for next season. The flyer has been approved by WYH. If you know of a girl who might be interested in playing hockey in Weymouth next season please pass this along. We can take girls from Abington, Rockland and if Hanover does not have a team next year we can register those girls as well.
I have emailed the president of the South Shore Eagles and he thinks that they are a few years away from having their own girls teams - which is good news for us. The president of the Eagles also said that he would pass along that we are looking for girls to his parents.
We will placing free ads in the Weymouth News and Patriot Ledger and we have a message going on Channel 10/11.
On paper we enough players for 2 teams next season(13 on each) - of course that depends on everyone coming back to the girls program. To make the strongest case possible more girls would be better ! In addition we are working with some parents of high school age girls to gather interest and form a club team next season, this will be open to all high school age girls and seventh and eighth graders as well. I have set up a club registration form on our website at In the next month or so we will be scheduling a meeting of all parents of girls interested in playing hockey in Weymouth to discuss the expansion of the youth program, formation of the club team and what the game plan is for the next few years. Hingham and Marshfield have sent us some great information on how they went about getting their varsity programs formed and we will use that information as a guide as we move forward.
Please treat this email as chain letter - pass it on to friends and family, let them know that the girls teams exist and we welcome kids of any ability. If your daughter plays soccer, basketball or softball talk to other parents - everyone needs to help sell the program.
We are going to need more help this year than we have had in the past to help build these programs. Any help, suggestions, advice is more than welcome - everyone has a stake in this program growing the more help the better. |
